Maxim Healthcare Services is thrilled to announce that Pam Robinette, RN, has been selected as the Caregiver of the Year for the North region. The John “Doc” Langley Caregiver of the Year award recognizes nurses, caregivers and behavioral health professionals who embody our values and demonstrate excellence. In her tenure with Maxim, Pam has made positively impacted families in the West Cleveland, OH area.
Pam has been a Maxim nurse for 17 years and has become a valuable member of the team. Kim Kenney, Clinical Supervisor, shared, “Not only is Pam an exemplary and compassionate nurse to her patients, but a kind soul to her coworkers. She treats everyone with kindness and respect and is willing to help anyone that is in need.” Outside of her work with Maxim, Pam is very involved in community service and volunteers with “Good Knights of Lorian County,” an organization that provides comfortable and safe beds to children in need in Lorian County, OH, who may have never had a bed of their own.
Since 2022, Pam has cared for Aiden, a medically complex 14-year-old patient with Down Syndrome who uses a feeding tube and pacemaker. Although he previously had a trach – due to the advanced care that Pam provided, he no longer uses it. Aiden has also made progress with his activities of daily living.
Pam has helped Aiden in other areas. Julia, Aiden’s mother, commented, “I enjoy working with Ms. Pam, a whole lot… when she came into me and Aiden’s life, she helped us a lot.” Pam attended school with Aiden before the pandemic, and she helped him with virtual learning when his school closed. She has also attended summer camp with Aiden so he could participate with his peers while having his needs met. Pam shared, “[Julia] has her hands full … he’s the youngest of 10, so I really wanted to help her and her family with anything that I can.” She attends doctor appointments with Aiden and comforts him during painful treatments like getting shots and having blood drawn.
“She’s exactly the type of nurse you would want to take care of your loved ones,” shared Cecelia Wyman, Recruitment Operations Manager – a sentiment that has been echoed by many people in the West Cleveland office who have had the privilege of working with Pam. Her commitment to her patients and profession is unwavering. Pam commented, “I’m happy going to work, I love being a nurse, I love taking care of people. I feel like I wake up every day and I can make a difference in the world.”
Pam is one of four regional winners selected from offices across the country. One of our winners will be chosen as the National Caregiver of the Year at this year’s award ceremony.
