The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a Medicaid-funded program that allows you to choose your caregiver and authorizes them to be paid for providing care.
CDPAP is available to New York residents who are qualified for Medicaid and have a chronic illness or disability as outlined in the program regulations.
Take charge of your care with CDPAP
CDPAP gives people living with chronic illness or disability more control over their care. Most family members and friends can work as caregivers, and parents may be eligible to work as caregivers for adult children. Your chosen caregiver would be able to help you with:
- Bathing, dressing and grooming
- Grocery shopping and meal preparation
- Medication assistance
- Light housekeeping and entertaining
Maxim can help
You are personally responsible for scheduling, recruiting, training, and supervising your caregiver under CDPAP. Maxim provides administrative support as a fiscal intermediary provider, so you don’t have to manage all administrative tasks yourself.
We can help you complete enrollment paperwork and onboard your caregiver. Your caregiver may receive benefits through Maxim and will be able to track their time through our electronic visit verification systems. We’ll also assign a Maxim representative to you and assist you with the program.
